Mongolia becomes full member of Pacific Economic Cooperation Council
Mongolia has been unanimously approved as a full member of Pacific Economic Cooperation Council during the PECC Standing Committee meeting held on July 24-25, 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand.
In August 2008, a press conference was called to media by the Mr. Odkhuu Durzee, MP and the Chariman of MONPECC, Mr. Narankhuu Khalzkhuu, Minister of Industry and Commerce and Vice-Chairman of MONPECC, and Mr. Jargalsaikhan Dambadarjaa, Secretary General of MONPECC. The press conference was held in the Press room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mongolia had been an associate member since 2000 and had regularly been participating in the activities of the PECC. MONPECC has been making efforts to establish business contacts between Mongolian business communities and potential business partners of the Asia – Pacific region and provide them with information on business and investment opportunities in Mongolia.
MONPECC seeks to expand its Government, Business, and Research councils and remain actively committed to PECC and APEC processes.
